We believe strengthening the Church begins by investing in its leaders and strategically doing so by following the pattern of Jesus. Have you ever noticed how many times in the Gospels it records Jesus getting away from the crowds He was ministering to for times of prayer and solitude? In Mark 1:35 we are specifically told, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” If Jesus needed to get away and spend time alone with the Father, how much more do pastors today need to do this?
